⭐️ Great Taste 2024 — Simply Delicious Award
Red Kampot Pepper is the sweetest and most complex of the Kampot family. Left to ripen fully on the vine before being hand-picked and dried, these peppercorns develop a mellow yet bright flavour with notes of syrupy dates, honey, and flowers — with a gentle, lingering warmth that never overwhelms.
What the Great Taste Judges Said
"These are brightly aromatic peppercorns with a vivid heat, but also a pleasing layer of woody eau de cologne notes on the finish."
"These are well-formed, attractive, rich-coloured peppercorns with a clean, distinctive, fruity pepper aroma and a fruity bright flavour with a good level of heat."
How to Use Red Kampot Pepper
Its sweet, fruity warmth pairs beautifully with:
- Poached pears and fruit-based desserts
- Tender pork cutlets and duck breast
- Cheese boards — especially soft and aged cheeses
- Chocolate and caramel-based puddings
- Slow-cooked lamb and braised dishes
About Kampot Pepper
Kampot Pepper has been cultivated in the azure hills of southern Cambodia for centuries — first documented by Chinese explorer Tchéou Ta Kouan in the 13th century. Production nearly ceased under the Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s, but has since been revived and granted Protected Geographical Indicator (PGI) status — making it the champagne of the pepper world. In chef circles, it is regarded as the finest pepper on earth.
