Kampot Pepper has been grown amongst the azure hills of steamy Southern Cambodia for hundreds of years. The peppercorns have a hugely vibrant, smoky aroma – really intense. Once crushed, this smoky note is greatly tempered by an additional fragrant note. Freshly crushed, there are hints of juniper and turpentine. An intense and lively pepper flavour with its inherent heat, this is quite moreish.. A useful ingredient.
Dark matt black little rounds, these have a deep and appealing smoky aroma. Heady smoky notes continue on the palate with a generous warmth – sophisticated without a hard hit. The smokiness complements the fruity peppery tones, adding complexity. This is a well crafted product that lingers in a delicious way.
With an incredible smoky aroma (think log fires), these are intense and warming. The peppercorns have a fire of their own and quite an intense heat. However, the smoke complements the overall peppercorns.
Shiny black peppercorns, these have an almost overpowering aroma from the smoke. Luckily, this was not transferred to the flavour. On tasting the smoke is better balanced – the balance is much better and milder. The peppercorns have a deep, hot citrus flavour that lasted well. This would be delicious ground onto smoked salmon.
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans
Suggestion: Scatter over a salmon fillet that has been baked with butter, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt.
